Welcome to your 2nd term in P.5

The children have settled really well into the routine of P5.

Literacy, Numeracy and ICT are the priority focus in our classroom and the children will be completing a range of topics in all 3 areas to extend their learning.

Our WAU topic this half term is, “The Egyptians,” where we will be learning about life in ancient Egypt as a Pharaoh and Farmer, the mummification process, pyramids and much more!  We will also be doing lots of research around this topic. We will be incorporating lots of Art/Craft and Science activities so keep your eye on our Facebook page and website where we will be sharing lots of our work.  

As a special treat, all P5 children will be given the opportunity to travel to the Navan Centre in Armagh for a full day of Egypt activities - it really is a fantastic educational trip.

Our class novel is, “Danny, the champion of the world,” a favourite of mine and the children.  

The children will also be given the opportunity to learn the Ukulele, a fabulous instrument for teaching rhythm and a great introduction to learning notation.  

Please continue to communicate with me via Seesaw.  This is a fantastic tool to support your child’s learning, upload homework and communicate with you as parents. We will also be using Mathletics and Accelerated Reader to enhance our literacy and numeracy skills.

Looking forward to another jam-packed term of learning in Primary 5.
