In Primary 4 this week we have been reading Eric Carle books as part of our Minibeasts topic and have looked at minibeast life cycles, particularly the life cycle of a Butterfly. Our favourite book of Eric Carles is ‘The very hungry caterpillar’ and we have also learnt the lyrics to our favourite Minibeast song ‘The ugly bug ball!’ We were inspired by Eric’s collage technique and carried out a three day project creating our own Minibeast collages. On day 1 we painted, designed and scratched our own designs using different materials such as spoons, sponges, lollipop sticks etc. Day 2, after allowing them to dry we traced different shapes. On day three we cut our our traced shapes and collaged them to make our Minibeasts collage. Some of us even completed the challenge of labelling the different body parts!! Then we presented them to each other and gave lovely compliments on our art pieces. ⭐️🤩
