Welcome to the new school year.

How lovely it was to welcome our pupils back into school this morning – their happy smiles provided some much-needed sunshine!

We are also delighted to welcome new teachers and assistants onto staff this year and we know you will support them as they get to know your children. The children are currently drawing portraits of all teaching staff and a selection of these will be added soon to our website.

A lot of hard work has been done over the summer months to prepare for the opening of our pre-school/P1 class for pupils with additional needs. Although these children start in a separate classroom it is our hope that they will integrate well with our mainstream classes as they progress through school.

Our school motto is “To be the best I can.” We encourage all our pupils to work towards this in personal, social and academic areas. However, I know that the staff at Abbots Cross also strive to be the best they can for your child. We appreciate your support as we work together to attain the best possible outcomes for all our pupils.
